Chatsworth Road Business Park
Words: Paul Chapman
172 Chatsworth Road is Chatsworth Road Business Park. This old electricity board site is home to a small group of businesses, four of them advertisers with S40 Local. If you’ve never visited, here’s a brief introduction.
Noble Motor Servicing
Noble Motor Servicing is a family business, Peter Dibble, wife Pippa and son George all work at the Business Park site.
“Noble is two businesses in one” explains Peter, “we service and maintain all cars, from A to Z; Austin to an Aston Martin Zagato, from any country, any size, from a smart car to a 3.5 tonne van, and we look after numerous motor homes. We provide everything from servicing, tyres, cambelts, brakes, MOTs etc. We also have the knowledge and experience to look after sports and performance cars, having our own rolling road.”
Their prices are competitive – an annual service and MOT for a small car with low mileage will be circa £99 plus vat and includes a free Mini Valet inside and out. They can collect and return your car and they have a courtesy car available when pre-booked.
“We can look after your new vehicle as well” adds Peter, “Even when still under manufacturer’s warranty you can come to us, when servicing with genuine parts your warranty is unaffected … and it will be cheaper than at your main dealer.”
The team is important at Noble, Mike, the service manager has been with them for 31 years after starting in 1987, this speaks volumes about how they treat the staff and shows the vast experience on hand … he’s just one member of a great team!
If you’re in need of servicing or maintenance, give them a call, they can normally get you booked in within three days and most repairs are completed same day.
Minuteman Press believe good design is all about communication. Making sure your message gets out in the most effective way possible. They offer a full creative design service for all your print and promotional requirements.
Minuteman Press is another family owned and run business. In October 2010 Jon, Jenny and Phil Harris took over the franchise which is now operating in it’s 10th year. Jon worked at the business when it first opened as the graphic designer, but then he took some time out travelling. On his return Jon and his parents purchased the business which has since grown year on year.
Minuteman Press provides creative graphic design services, high quality printed, branded promotional products and clothing, free standing displays, labelling, packaging and branded clothing plus a whole range of additional print and design services.
Jon does much of the design work himself and loves to meet new start up businesses, offering logo design, together with branded clothing and business stationery he can steer the new business in the right direction and help establish a branding that’s perfectly aligned to your requirements. If they can’t offer the service directly, Jon and the team have contacts across the range of print products and services so can probably help out whatever your needs.

Resurrecting the name Brampton Brewery has been a huge success. You can try their beers in one of their two pubs; The Rose & Crown and The Tramway Tavern, can find them appearing as guest ales and bottled across the county, you can buy their beers as out-sales from The Beer Cellar on the Business Park plus they offer full outside bar services.
The relauch of Brampton Brewery as a micro-brewery was the realization of life-long dreams for many of those involved. Although, to be clear: there was nothing at all ‘micro’ about the original Brampton Brewery Company which ran for 130 years, with a bottling plant, 142 public houses, 10 shops and 142 worker’s cottages to its credit.
After an absence of more than 50 years Brampton Brewery was re-born in the winter of 2007.
Today, the brewery is run by a small team of local ale enthusiasts, led by head-brewer Chris Radford. The brewery logo gives an appreciative nod to the hundreds of thirsty workers at the ‘Wasp Nest Brick Company’ in Brampton whose ‘engines’ were refuelled on a daily basis by the original Brewery.
Today this award-winning Micro-brewery is home to a single Mash Tun, four fermenting vessels and produces up to 10,000 pints every week and the pubs together with the brewery create employment for a growing number of local peolple.
Brampton Brewery will continue to build on the legacy of its forebears in an innovative, precious fashion. And whilst many of the titles are new, a few old favourites remain.
Why not drop into the Beer Cellar, just 200 yards from where it all started.
